1st & 2nd Class Christmas Art

First and Second Class have been very busy since we came back after Halloween break.

Congratulations to Second Class who had their Enrolment Cermony on the 24th of November in preperation for their First Penance and First Holy Communion.

During the term we have covered a lot of different topics in class.
Homes was our theme for November. We learned about the people invloved in building houses and the different parts of our houses.
We also studied the differences between badgers and foxes homes and we really enjoyed our vist from Mary Barry who spoke to us about native Irish birds and animals.

We also spents lots of time preparing for our school carol service where we sang Away in a Manger and Following A Star.

We have been busy creating lots of Christmas Art and we all painted a christmas tree window scene. We focused on brush stroke direction and used different tones of green to create a 3d effect on our christmas trees. We then glued on black strips of paper to create a window frame. We are all delighted with how they turned out.

Happy Christmas to Everyone.

1st & 2nd Class 2022

All the boys and girls in First and Second Class have been very busy since we came back to school in September. In History we have been learning about card games in the past that our grandparents would have played. We had great fun learning how to play Beggar my Neighbour. We also enjoyed the fine weather we had in September and spent lots of lessons in the school grounds observing mini beasts, classifying natural and man-made materials in Science and engaging in orienteering activities for P.E.

At the moment we are very busy preparing for Our Halloween Assembly on Friday and we have created Halloween Silhouettes in Art to display in school.
