Pancakes, Hurling and Brownies

February and March have been very busy months in Third and Fourth class.

Buddy Reading continued for the month of February. We enjoyed reading and discussing books with our Infant class buddies, and are looking forward to doing it again in May and June.

The delicious smell of pancakes wafted from the 3rd and 4th classroom on Pancake Thursday as we worked together in groups to make pancakes from scratch, before decorating them with our shared toppings and devouring them. Unfortunately there were none left for Fr. Kelly when he visited us the next day with ashes for Ash Wednesday!

We had 3 hurling sessions with Barry Dunne. Swimming lessons began on Mondays in Aura, and we have 2 more to go when we come back after the Easter holidays.

Three of our pupils, Ava, Lilly and Zoe gave a talk to the class about their experiences of being Brownies. They explained what all of the badges meant, and told us about all of the fun activities they do as Brownies.

March brought Seachtain na Gaeilge and we enjoyed practising for the Cèilì and and taking part in Tràth na gCeist with 5th and 6th class.
